Land Encroachment: Church Sues Doctor

The Apostolic Church, Temidire Assembly, Osogbo, has dragged Dr Adeyemi Gbadebo and Adebayo Adenigba to an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged land encroachment.

The church alleged that the two accused persons conspired to commit felony, to wit malicious damage of property on their land in a case that's been in court since 2013.

Meanwhile Dr Gbadebo has also dragged the church and one Moshood Adesina to court for selling his plot of land to the church

He alleged that he bought the land at the cost of N1million from Barrister M. A. Laogun who received the money on behalf of a USA-based Charles Oluokun in 2010.

He alleged that Adesina collected another N900,000 from him when he claimed that he was the owner of the land.

According to the substituted charge sheet, Dr Gbadebo and Adenigba between May and June 2013 at Temidire Estate, Halleluya Area, Osogbo, did unlawfully and forcibly enter the property of the Apostolic Church, Temidire Assembly and thereby committed an offence.

The two accused persons pleaded not guilty to the six-count charge brought against them and were granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties and the case was adjourned to January 6, 2015 .
