Nigeria: Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh Sick

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh will not be in the dugout when the team takes on Burkina Faso in Saturday’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.

Oliseh has taken charge of four official matches since he took charge of the team and has won four and is now taking time out to take care of his ailing body ahead of other major matches in the coming month.

The NFF in a statement issued on Wednesday, informed that Oliseh would not be available for Saturday’s game but may likely return to the team’s camp in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

According to, the tweet reads: “Owing to ill health, coach @SundayOOliseh won’t be available for Saturday’s CHAN qualifier vs Burkina Faso. He joins the team on Sunday.”

The match starts by 4:00pm at the Adokiye Amiesiemaka Stadium on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

The coach, who has had to endure a lot of criticisms since he became the team’s handler, was also recently blasted by a former Nigeria international, who said he acted immaturely.

Wishing him a speedy recovery although I'm not a fan.
