New surgical method uses virtual reality headsets.

An absolutely amazing surgical addition to surgery- virtual reality headsets. It allows surgeons see inside a patient's head during an operation.
And neurosurgeons at UCLA are having fun with the new gadget.

"It's just amazing to see every little opening in the skull where a nerve goes through.  I'm virtually inside the skull of the patient walking around, floating around," said Dr. Neil Martin, chairman of University of California Los Angeles' department of neurosurgery.

Dr Martin is working on this new technology with Surgical Theater CEO Moty Avisar, a former officer in the Israeli air force who designed flight simulators for F-16 fighter jets.

The headsets will be introduced today at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Annual Scientific Meeting.

This is absolutely great news and it sounds better than laparoscopic surgery.

A big yes to easier and safer neurosurgery! Hello future...
