Beauty Moneysavers- Aloe Vera Gel

If you have an aloe Vera plant at home, then you are sitting on a pot of "green" gold. Yes! Aloe Vera has been touted as the "miracle plant" for many years and rightly so.

I'll skip all the intro and get to how to use this plant on your skin.

1. Get a freshly cut aloe leaf.
2. Cut the edges with the spikes off.
3. Open the aloe leaf and rub on your skin.
4. Leave on for 15 minutes or overnight (N.B you may feel some tingling, nothing to worry about but don't let it get on your lips because it has a bitter taste).
5. Rinse off in the morning.

The regimen is pretty simple, it requires nil mixing of several ingredients. The only associated difficulty is if you don't have an aloe plant at home.

Follow this regimen for at least 2 weeks and will notice the changes in your skin; visibly smoother, toned and glowing skin. It also works on acne.

There are some bottles of 100% pure aloe vera gel in the stores, but I haven't experimented with them on my face so I cannot say if they will work like a real aloe vera plant.

If you like this this simple regimen, you'll need to get an aloe plant. They grow pretty fast and are almost maintenance-free. However, another option is to cut some leaves' from a friend's aloe plant for your use later. Although the leaves don't dry out easily, you may keep them fresh by storing them in a refrigerator for use within a week.

Stay healthy and beautiful...xoxo
