Skin Care Tips For Men

Men are paying more attention to how they look, with the "clean and sophisticated" look scoring more points from the ladies. So, if you are looking for a way to take your look, a notch or two up, you may need these tips.

1. Shower with lukewarm water
Hot water strips the skin of natural oils, and the longer and hotter the shower, the faster this process takes place and the more moisture you're likely to lose.
With regular hot showers, you might also notice dry patches of skin that feel scaly or even start to crack. If possible, end your shower with 2 minutes of cold water to close your pores and boost blood circulation. See other benefits of a cold shower here.

2. Use mild facial cleansers (depending on your skin type) to wash your face. The skin on the face has different needs from the rest of your body and strong soaps will make the face dry and rough with continued use. There's an assortment of cleansers in the market to choose from, at affordable prices too.

3. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply cream, lotion or gel before shaving. Use a clean and sharp razor. If your skin is too itchy or dry, it can lead to cuts. Also, if you find your face itchy even after the shave, apply a moisturiser or lotion to soothe it.

4. Find a moisturiser that suits your skin type and makes your skin feel soft. There are various brands available in the market these days. If your skin is too dry, opt for a heavier lotion which is more creamy in base. If your skin is more oily, choose an oil-free moisturiser to keep it hydrated. For normal skin, choose an everyday lotion which is not too heavy but adds a layer of protection on your skin.
