Liberia Releases Last Ebola Patient

Liberia has released its last Ebola patient, Beatrice Yardolo, a 58 year old English teacher from its treatment centre in Monrovia's Paynesville district.

With no new case of Ebola recorded in a week, Liberia may be declared Ebola-free after 42 days. However, the threat of fresh Ebola outbreaks remain with Guinea and Sierra-Leone having viable Ebola cases.

On a brighter note, the final stage of testing of an experimental Ebola vaccine will begin in Guinea on March 7 and if effective, it will become the first preventive tool against Ebola.
