Fasting to Live Longer

I actually never thought of fasting as more than a religious obligation with some health benefits and an opportunity to lose some weight lol... I did some digging to find out more and it turns out that fasting is very essential to living longer and healthier.
With fasting, the body is able to break down damaged cells and metabolize them, allowing your body repair itself and slow down aging.

Findings from the Institute of Health Aging at University College London suggest that eating 40% less could extend a person’s life by as much as 20 years. And the evidence seems to be mounting. Recent studies at Harvard Medical School, showed that the body can build a better response to oxidative stress with intermittent fasting. The study is documented in the journal Rejuvenation Research.

Fasting has also been proven effective in controlling weight. improving immunity, preventing the brain from degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, preventing coronary artery disease, diabetes and cancer

In conclusion, fasting actually  "mends" your body. So, give it a try, at least once a week.
